Inspiration

The steady, regular marching step was a marked feature of Roman legions. Vegetius, the author of the only surviving treatise on the Roman Empire's military, De Re Militari, recognized the importance of "constant practice of marching quick and together...Nor is anything of more consequence either on the march or in the line than that they should keep their ranks with the greatest exactness. For troops who march in an irregular and disorderly manner are always in great danger of being defeated..."

How important is marching?

Vegetius explains that it was the first thing soldiers were taught. He writes that it was imperative that Roman soldiers could march at speed. Any army which would be split up by stragglers or soldiers walking at differing speeds would be vulnerable to attack. Therefore, the Roman soldier was trained to march in line and to keep the army a compact fighting unit on the move. For this, explains Vegetius, during the summer months the soldiers were to be marched twenty Roman miles (18.4 miles/29.6 km), which had to be completed in five hours

Bi-Directional Military Marching Gloves. Due to repeated requests from our clients, we recently re-introduced these Bi-Directional Military Marching Gloves. Military marching trainees will now have no excuse for failing to know right from left. They need only refer to their gloves. (Black is worn on the left, white on the right.) These long-lasting gloves are specially made for us from high-quality, virgin alpaca wool by an order of cloistered Carmelite nuns. Bi-Directional Military Marching Gloves are also suitable for use in “port and starboard” Naval training. (Note: These replace our “L” and “R” self-administered tattoo and stencil kits.)

Subliminal Marching Techniques Slides. Similar to our popular “Marching Techniques Flash Cards,” these slides are designed to be inserted into March Right Inc.’s exclusive “Global Marching Techniques” instructional videos, or our clients' own slide-shows or Power Point presentations. Our research shows that flashing them on screen at between 1/16th and 1/12th of a second, at intervals of not more than two minutes, produces the best results. (Note: Subliminal training techniques are illegal in Qatar, Burundi, Mali, Kyrgyzstan and most of Alabama.)

Toy soldiers? Think again. Our clients, including several NATO members, regularly order thousands of these lifelike male and female replica marching soldiers to help them “choreograph” a major march. Available in white, battle green or camo, they are custom made for us by a severely autistic model maker in the Carpathian Mountains. They feature NATO-approved battle uniforms and SPECTRA ballistic helmets. (Limited number of models wearing Greek Army marching skirts and "bootlets" also available.) Washable, environmentally friendly and, for the large part, anatomically correct.
